A Frankford resident targeted in a gunpoint home-invasion Thursday afternoon wrestled a gun from one of the robbers and exchange gunfire with a second bandit.

Police said two armed men dressed in black hooded sweatshirts forced their way into the back of the house on Sylvester Street near Bridge around 1 p.m. The homeowner, who has not been identified, managed to fight one of the gunmen and take his gun from him, according to police.

The homeowner then opened fire on the second gunman, who shot back before both fled the property.

Police said they believe the homeowner shot at least one of the gunmen. Nothing was taken in the home-invasion, and the homeowner was not injured.
