Man shot, critically injured in West Oak Lane

Police are investigating a shooting that left a 28-year-old man critically injured Tuesday night in West Oak Lane.

At 9:26 p.m., police responded to call for gunfire on 19th Street near 72nd Avenue, where they found a man who was wounded twice in his abdomen and once in his left leg.

The man was taken to the Albert Einstein Medical Center, where police Chief Inspector Scott Small said he was listed in critical condition as of 11:30 p.m.

Police said the man was approached by two others on the street and was shot after being involved in a brief argument.

There were no witnesses, and no arrests were made.
