Oxford Circle man gunned down in N. Philly

Police are seeking suspects in the overnight shooting death of an Oxford Circle man.

Police found Tyrek Jones, 29, of Hale Street near Loretto Avenue, about 9:30 p.m. last night collapsed on Glenwood Avenue near Dauphin Street in North Philadelphia with a gunshot wound to the head, said Officer Jillian Russell, a police spokeswoman. Doctors declared him dead at 9:53 p.m. at Temple University Hospital, Russell said.

Court records show Jones was a repeat offender with past arrests for aggravated assault and gun and drug crimes.
