Police: Gunman posed as postal worker in Northeast home-invasion

A gunman dressed as a postal worker forced his way into a house in Northeast Philadelphia Tuesday morning, police said.

Cops said a 46-year-old man answered a knock at his door on Saxton Road near Ashton around 9 a.m. and found a man in a postal worker's uniform outside, according to a police spokeswoman. The imposter, armed with a gun and a taser, forced his way into the house and struck the victim in the head with the taser before fleeing, police said.

Nothing was taken from the house, and the gunman remains on the loose.

The victim was treated for a laceration to his head at Aria Health's Torresdale hospital.
