Police searching for second armed robbery suspect

Police are searching for a second suspect in connection with an armed robbery at a convenience store in Norh Philadelphia where a store clerk was shot and killed May 26.

Officials identified the second suspect as Marvell Hargrove, a 17-year-old whom police said lives on 28th Street near York in North Philadelphia. Officials said he is about 5-feet-9 inches tall and weighs about 150 pounds.

Police said the teen is known to frequent the area of Ridge Avenue around 25th Street — near the home of Quasheam Richburg, whom police are also seeking in connection with the robbery and shooting.

The two men robbed the Trax Food Store on Front Street near Girard Avenue just before 3 a.m. on May 26.

A surveillance camera inside the store recorded the incident, and shows the suspects reaching over the counter trying to grab the cash register.

The video also shows Richburg hitting Shaker, 50, with the barrel of a shotgun that he would eventually allegedly shoot him with.

The U.S Marshals announced Monday that they are offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to Richburg's arrest, and police said Hargrove and Richburg may be together.

Anyone who can provide information on either suspect is encouraged to call the Philadelphia Police Department homicide unit at 215-686-3334 or 215-686-3335.
