Police ID latest victim they suspect the Kensington Strangler killed

Police have identified the woman slain Wednesday in Kensington - believed to be the 'Kensington Strangler's' third victim - as Casey Mahoney, 27, of East Stroudsberg.

Police today identified the woman slain Wednesday in Kensington - believed to be the 'Kensington Strangler's' third victim - as Casey Mahoney, 27, of  East Stroudsburg.

An autopsy showed that the cause of death was manual strangulation. It'll be about a week before DNA can confirm whether Mahoney was killed by the same rapist who strangled Elaine Goldberg and Nicole Piacentini in November in nearby vacant lots.

Mahoney was found lying facedown and half-naked in a weedy, trashy lot at Front and Tusculum streets shortly after 5 p.m. Wednesday. Police, who have stepped up patrols in the area, suspect a serial killer and have asked the public's help to nab the madman.
