Philadelphia police have linked a third case to the serial groper preying on women in the Spring Garden neighborhood.

Philadelphia police have linked a third case to the serial groper preying on women in the Spring Garden neighborhood.

In that case, a 36-year-old woman told police that an unknown man indecently assaulted her as they waited for a bus at 9:40 p.m. Oct. 27 at 16th and Spring Garden streets. The man fled south on 16th Street after the attack. He is described as a clean-shaven black man, age 22 to 25, 5-foot-7, of medium build, wearing blue jeans, a dark-colored suede jacket and with a book bag slung across his chest.

More recently, the groper accosted two women between 7 and 7:15 p.m. Thursday. The first victim was grabbed by a man as she tried to flag down a taxi at 16th and Spring Garden streets. Minutes later, police said, another woman was grabbed as she got something out of her car at 15th and Green streets. Police said the victims described the assailant as a black man who wore a dark jacket and a scarf around his face.
