An 18-year-old man was shot and killed on York Street, near 5th in North Philadelphia just after 9 p.m. Thursday, police said.
Police Chief Inspector Scott Small said the man was shot once in the chest, and once in the head.
Medics pronounced the man dead at 9:25 p.m., Small said.
There was limited information available on a possible suspect early Friday morning.
However, Small said the man who fired the fatal shots was wearing all red, and was last seen running east on York.
Small said that in a preliminary investigation detectives learned that the victim was known to frequent the area where he was gunned down, and it appears that the shooting may have been drug-related.
