TNT brings 'Dallas' back from the dead

J.R. Ewing is headed back to TV. It’s a go for the much-talked-about return of “Dallas,” TNT announced today. Larry Hagman, Patrick Duffy and Linda Gray are all aboard, but the new series will, of course, focus on cast members closer to TNT’s target demos, with Josh Henderson (“90210”), Jesse Metcalfe (“Desperate Housewives”), Jordana Brewster (“Fast & Furious”) and Julie Gonzalo (“Eli Stone”) among the leads.

It's a go for the much-talked-about return of "Dallas," TNT announced today.

Larry Hagman, Patrick Duffy and Linda Gray are all aboard, but the new series will, of course, focus on cast members closer to TNT's target demos, with Josh Henderson ("90210"), Jesse Metcalfe ("Desperate Housewives"), Jordana Brewster ("Fast & Furious") and Julie Gonzalo ("Eli Stone") among the leads.

Brenda Strong, the voice of "Desperate Housewives," will play Bobby Ewing's wife (you might say the Ewing women were the original desperate housewives).

The show's not scheduled to premiere until next summer, but TNT's planning a promotional preview Monday night during the season premieres of "The Closer" and "Rizzoli & Isles."
