1 ticket hits Mega Millions jackpot

One ticket purchased in New York state hit the $22 million jackpot in Mega Millions last night.

It had all the winning numbers: 22, 25, 33, 36 and 48, plus the Mega Ball of 40.

As a result, Friday's jackpot in the multistate lottery will be worth $12 million.

New York also had two tickets that won the second prize of $250,000. California, Illinois and Texas also sold tickets that had all the numbers except for the Mega Ball.

Mega Millions is played in 12 states, including New Jersey and Maryland.

Powerball. Tonight's jackpot is an estimated $146 million. Powerball is played in Pennsylvania, Delaware and 28 other states.
