A bit too enthusiastic

Some Phillies fans took their enthusiasm for the team a little too far.

There was the teenager who streaked across the parking lot outside the ballpark shortly after noon. He somehow managed to elude police.

Another exuberant fan wasn’t so fortunate.

He climbed the big green Citizens Bank Ballpark sign shortly before 2 p.m. and walked across the top of it as thousands of fans - still waiting for the parade to arrive - broke out in cheers.

The young man, dressed in a red Phillies jacket and blue jeans, came down to waiting officers who handcuffed and led him away. The fans booed police.

But their spirits weren’t dampened. Excitement - and noise levels - steadily increased as their heroes closed in on the ballpark.
