Atlantic City train hits vehicle, kills 1

NJ Transit says a person in a motor vehicle has been killed in a collision with a train at a South Jersey grade crossing.

The Associated Press reports:

WATERFORD TOWNSHIP, N.J. — NJ Transit says a person in a motor vehicle has been killed in a collision with a train at a South Jersey grade crossing.

NJ Transit spokesman Dan Stessel says the accident occurred at about 4:15 p.m. at the Bartram Road grade crossing in Waterford Township near the Atco station.

He says there were no reported injuries aboard the Atlantic City line train, which departed Atlantic City at 3:36 p.m. bound for Philadelphia.

Service was suspended between the Atco station and Philadelphia 30th Street Station while NJ Transit worked to establish alternate bus transportation.
