The golden orb known as the sun made a rare appearance today, ending a string of rainy days, barring, that is, an unexpected downpour.

Here it relects off the cars headed south on I-95 in Essington, Delaware County.

But it looks like the skies will remain rain-free for only about 24 hours.

Forecasts call for thunderstorms or rain tommorow and Sunday, which is bound to ruin many plans for a round of golf or a barbecue to celebrate both the First Day of Summer and Father's Day.
