Hit-and-run driver kills woman in Bristol Borough

Inquirer staff writer Dwight Ott reports:

A 70-year-old woman was killed last evening by a hit-and-run driver in Bristol Borough as she attempted to cross the street in the 700 block of Radcliffe Road, police said.
Bristol Borough Police Officer Pete Faight said the woman, whom he refused to identify pending notification of relatives, was walking across Radcliffe near the borough library around 6 p.m. when a dark SUV, driven by a man with salt-and-pepper hair and wearing glasses, struck the woman. The driver, said to be about 5-foot 7, briefly stopped and surveyed the scene and then fled westbound on Radcliffe.
Faight urged anyone with information to contact him or Sgt. Allen Hankinson at 215-788-7813, extension 25 or 24.
