$25,000 to local environmental ed projects

The goal is to reduce environmental risks to children

Five environmental education projects have been awarded a total of $25,000 in grants from the National Nursing Centers Consortium, which in turn got the money from a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency grant.

"NNCC's environmental education programs have a proven track record of reducing environmental risks that threaten the health of children and underserved communities disproportionately," said EPA Regional Administrator Shawn M. Garvin at an awards ceremony last week.
