Allegation: Kim Kardashian copied Alexis Bittar's designs

There is a remarkable resemblance between the two, no? They could be fraternal twins.

We're referring to the jewelry designs by revered, CFDA award winner Alexis Bittar and reality television star Kim Kardashian, who just released her Belle Noel jewelry line.

And yes, Alexis Bittar is PO'd! He's so upset that he's told his staff that they can no longer send items to Kim K, which reveals the troublesome nature of the situation. Designers consistently attempt to get their labels on Kim, especially when she's on the step and repeat of various red carpet functions. It's publicity for them, it's free for her.

Bittar, who admits he has sent Kim his jewelry in the past, discovered the unruly similarity between his designs and Kim's when he passed a Dash pop up store on Broadway. However, he says he will not take legal action- yet.

Bittar tells the New York Post that he is giving Kim the benefit of the doubt: He admits that he hasn't spoken to her yet, nor is he entirely sure how deeply involved Kim was in the design process. "The truth is she might not even know. She might be so far removed from it, and her designers just go shopping and knock things off. But we are definitely not lending to Kim any more, she has been barred," he remarks.

In response, a rep for Belle Noel says, "[Kim] hasn't ever noted any inspiration from Alexis Bittar's pieces so any similarity in design is purely coincidental."

After reviewing both collections, we see the obvious similarities between the designs, but there are no identical copies from Belle Noel, which is enough to prevent a lawsuit from forming. What are your thoughts: Do you think Kim K independently created these designs or is something shady going on?

More to come.
