The details on Britney's ring

Jason Trawick became a household name last week after he and Britney Spears got engaged.

However, according to jeweler Neil Lane, who designed her engagement ring, Trawick was just as nervous and excited as the average "guy who was about to propose to the woman he loves."

Lane told PEOPLE that Trawick's inspiration for the ring was Britney's stay-at-home princess persona. He added, "Jason didn't want an over-the-top ring with a giant stone." With those factors in mind, Lane devised a ring that resembled a tiara. The jeweler placed 90 tiny diamonds around the band, and one round white diamond in a platinum setting to serve as the crown.

In the past, Madonna, Nicole Richie, and Reese Witherspoon are a few of the A-list celebrities who have received Neil Lane engagement rings. Although some of these high-profile matches did not survive marriage, let alone the engagement process (cough, Kat Von D and Jesse James), Lane has become the designated Hollywood jeweler.

Meanwhile, this past weekend, the newly-engaged couple celebrated in Vegas, where Spears stepped out in a nude Herve Leger dress, and a sparkling new ring on her left ring finger. Congrats to both!
