Just Can It! Turkey Chili
Ingredients:
1 lb lean ground turkey
1 white onion, finely chopped
1 washed green pepper, finely chopped
1 15.5 oz can pinto beans, drained
1 15.5 oz can black beans, drained
1 15.5 oz can kidney beans, drained
1 6 oz can tomato paste
1 14.5 oz can diced tomatoes
3 tbsp chili powder
3 tbsp cumin
1 tbsp garlic powder
2-4 bay leaves (remove before serving)
Cooking spray
Directions:
1. Spray a medium to large soup pot with cooking spray. Cook ground turkey, onions, green peppers over medium to low heat for about 15-20 minutes.
2. Stir in remaining ingredients and cook on low to medium heat for an additional 20- 30 minutes.
Chili add-ins or toppings:
½ cup chopped green onions
4 broken tortilla chips
1 tbsp shredded low- fat cheddar cheese
1 tbsp low fat sour cream
1 tbsp finely chopped white or green onions
1 tbsp finely chopped jalepeno
Makes about 10, 1 cup servings
