Eagles on a roll

The Eagles are on a roll.

Well, that was easy.

The Eagles have now won three straight games after walloping the Cleveland Browns, 30-10. They have won what essentially was their third straight elimination game. They are 8-5-1 with two games to play.  They do not control their destiny but you cannot deny their momentum.

This game was a cinch, true enough, but they all count. The Eagles had some wacky moments, true enough, but they were never in anything but total control.

To make too much of it would be wrong. Too dismiss it as nothing would be just as wrong. Repeat: they all count. And as things stand, the Eagles will head to Washington next Sunday afternoon with every confidence. They will arrive for that game in better mental shape than they've been in this season, probably -- and in pretty decent physical shape, too.

That said, the Browns are awful. They were the perfect tuneup for the back-to-back division games to come -- at Washington and then home for Dallas, home for the kind of game that fans will savor -- provided they get past the Redskins.
