New SEPTA Rail, PATCO schedules go into effect this weekend
New SEPTA Regional Rail and PATCO High Speed Line schedules go into effect this weekend.
PATCO's new timetable, which can be found here, goes into effect 12:01 a.m Saturday. The SEPTA schedule, which can be found here, begins Sunday.
PATCO said that based on the an analysis of ridership data the schedule is being changed to "enhance service and schedule reliability for customers."
The commuter line has been dogged of late by equipment problems and shortages as a portion of its fleet remains out of service while cars are rebuilt.
The schedule includes turning three morning express express trains have been converted to local trains and two locals originating in Woodcrest have been canceled.
SEPTA says it new timetable is a follow-up to the schedule that went into effect in December. The changes "hat will focus on addressing congestion, continued implementation of Positive Train Control and train run times," SEPTA said.
