SEX in the Morning
Does The SEX ever make you late to work in the mornings? Or the cause of getting home late at night? Ever blame The SEX for things? Ever have withdrawal from The SEX?
So begins an improbable post from Albert Yee at Dragonballyee. I didn't really want to know what Albert thought about sex, but this was so un-Albert I read on.
Me, never. But that's because I never take the The Schuylkill Expressway to/fro work.
Or know that there was a new trend among traffic reporters to shorten The Schuylkill into The SEX. Until he read all about it on Michael Feagans's PhilaFile blog.
Feagans, who wonders what out-of-towners must think, reports:
Heard on Fox News, "If I were you I would avoid the SEX in South Philly this morning, that is, if you don't like tie-ups."
This was also news to a friend of mine, who produces traffic reports for local radio and television. She was amused. "There is no way anyone would refer to it as the SEX - that is just ridiculous," she said. Must be on the down low.
One can never have enough coverage of The SEX.
Isn't there a site on the internet with a webcam that you can watch the SEX on?
How is it that I listen to the radio every morning and have never heard it called the SEX? I have a hard time believing Ackshun Nooz would let one of their people talk about slippery sex. And why am I now picturing Mango from SNL saying "You can't have the SEX"?
I have worked in the traffic reporting field for a long time, and I've never known anyone personally who used that term, or been told I could use that term on the air. So this is a surprise to me. But I got a good chuckle out of it. I'll talk to my friends who are traffic reporters and see if they know anything about it.
