Their new record, we're told, sounds like they slept through the last 25 years. Which isn't altogether bad.

Give the people what they want.  From what I've heard of the new Springsteen CD, it sounds like he's back to his old sound, too.

That's a pretty good list, but was Joe Walsh an "auxillary guitarist" as #24 states?

As I remember in 1978/79 when Joe Walsh joined the Eagles he had been a successful musician with The James Gang and as a solo artist.  Joe Walsh's addition to the Eagles line up made them the super group they becaem imho.  I think he was the last piece of the puzzle.

Pre-Walsh the Eagles were the sort of headliner that put you to gentle sleep with their gorgeous harmonies and country rock -- particularly if you'd just been jacked up by, say, by the Marshall Tucker Band
