Penn State notes: Franklin shuffled the offensive line for Maryland

Penn State head coach James Franklin felt the offensive line needed some changes after last week's loss to Ohio State.

Penn State did some shuffling on the offensive line following their 38-10 loss at Ohio State.

Senior Angelo Mangiro, usually the team's mainstay at center, was moved to left guard against Maryland replacing Brendan Mahon, who went to the bench. Redshirt junior Wendy Laurent was inserted at center.

Mahon, a third-year sophomore, got a chance to redeem himself, however. He entered the game at right tackle after Andrew Nelson went down with an apparent left leg injury early in the third quarter, and received a compliment from Franklin afterward.

"I thought it was great that Mahon comes in after we lose Nellie, he comes in and really played pretty well," Franklin said.
