Robinson named Big Ten's best WR; Urschel, Jones also honored

Penn State junior Allen Robinson has been named the top receiver in the Big Ten Conference for the second straight year, and heads a list of three Nittany Lions who were named first-team All-Big Ten by coaches and media.

Robinson, of Southfield, Mich., who established Penn State single-season records with 97 catches and 1,432 receiving yards, was named the conference's Richter-Howard receiver of the year.

Robinson was joined by senior guard John Urschel and senior defensive tackle DaQuan Jones on the all-conference teams announced Monday.

Robinson and Urschel, both of who made All-Big Ten in 2013, were voted in this season by conference coaches and media. Jones was selected on the first team by the coaches and on the second team by the media.

Robinson, who is considering whether to return for his senior season or enter the NFL draft, told the Big Ten Network he is thinking it over.

"I'm going to go home over the Christmas holiday and talk with my family, talk with the coaches and try to figure it out," Robinson told the network. "I should be able to decide after the Christmas holiday."

Quarterback Christian Hackenberg, who is the favorite to be named Tuesday as Big Ten freshman of the year, headed a list of nine honorable mentions from the Nittany Lions. Also named were junior cornerback Adrian Amos, senior linebacker Glenn Carson, junior kicker Sam Ficken, senior center Ty Howle, sophomore tight end Jesse James, sophomore cornerback Jordan Lucas, junior defensive end C.J. Olaniyan and sophomore offensive tackle Donovan Smith.
