Penn State's Trevor Williams logs interception in his homecoming
Penn State cornerback Trevor Williams recorded an interception and two tackles in his first game playing in Baltimore since high school.
Penn State cornerback Trevor Williams came home to Baltimore Saturday. During his trip, he logged two interceptions and an interception - a pick near the end of the fourth quarter.
“It’s a great feeling. I haven’t played here in five years ever since high school. And just to make a play here at my hometown,in front of my family,” Williams said. “It’s just a great feeling and a moment I’ll remember forever.”
Williams graduated from Calvert Hall College High School, where he was first team All-State and caught 99 passes for 1,180 yards and scored 15 touchdowns his senior year.
Now a senior for the Lions, he has had four career interceptions, tied for the team lead.
This 31-30 win over Maryland boosted his confidence, he said, and makes him excited for the rest of the season.
“We knew we were going to get hit with some adverse situations but we just realized that we had to have each other’s backs and play for one another, and we got the win today,” he said.
