Ames True Temper in $540 million deal
Griffon Corp. buys Ames True Temper from Castle Harlan
Griffon Corp., New York-based owner of Telephonics and the Clopay building-products and plastics companies, has agreed to pay $540 million to Castle Harlan Inc., New York, for Ames True Temper Inc., the Camp Hill, Pa.-based garden-tool marketer. Griffon was represented by Philadelphia law firm Dechert LLP's Martin Nussbaum and his corporate-team colleagues, and by the firm's compensation, tax, environmental, real estate and antitrust lawyers.
