Five years after he moved accounting firm Parente Randolph to Philadelphia from Wilkes-Barre in hopes of building a national practice, chief executive and chairman Robert Ciaruffoli says he's glad he switched: "We lived in the mountains all our lives. Now we live in Queen Village. We've never looked back. We love it. I'm still like a kid in a candy store. It's vibrant. Business, social, sports, the arts. It's all there. There's always something going in Philadelphia."
Last week Ciaruffoli merged Parente with two smaller firms, Altenburger, Uris, Caglioti & Heyman, Cherry Hill, and William R. Hoffmann Ltd., Williamsport, boosting total employment to 585, from 550. The practice includes auditing, tax, a national health care/senior living practice, human resources, forensic accounting, and corporate finance, among others, with outposts in Dallas and Wilmington, Del.
