iPipeline, an Exton-based insurance software maker that employs more than 300 at offices across the US, says it's bought Assureweb, which sells similar services to British insurance, pension and home loan groups, from owners including Aviva, AEGON, Friends Life, Prudential and Scottish Widows Plc, for an undisclosed price.

The deal follows iPipeline's most recent capital raising in January, led by Technology Crossover Ventures and including Radnor-based NewSpring Capital.
iPipeline boss Tim Wallace says he plans to sell more iPipeline services to Assureweb customers in Europe and Asia. Assureweb boss Andrew Simon said he'll remain with the company as it develops "a new suite of products and services" later this year.
