Clap Your Hands Say Yeah return, Philly band kicks off tour at Johnny Brenda's in March

Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, led by the now Conshohocken-based Alec Ounsworth, will return on Feb. 24 with The Tourist.

It's the fifth album by the band that first became a blog-buzzed indie sensation in those Internet days of yore with its self-titled debut back in 2005. The Tourist is Ounsworth and crew's first since Only Run in 2014. It was recorded mainly in Dr. Dog's studio space in Delaware County and also at Brian McTear's Miner Street in Fishtown with a band consisting of Patrick Berkery, Matt Wong and Nick Krill.

Ounsworth is doing solo shows in Europe in January and then CYHSY head out on a U.S. band tour, starting with Johnny Brenda's dates on March 2 and 3. Tickets go on sale Friday. Hear the new single "Fireproof" below.
