Non-Comm Thursday: Dr. Dog, Gaslight Anthem, Carolina Chocolate Drops, Chrissie Hynde

The Non-Comm Convention gets underway today at the World Cafe Live with a noontime threesome of singer-songwriter Amy Correia, Atlanta hip-hop band The Constellations and JP, Chrissie & The Fairground Boys, with the Chrissie in question being the Pretenders' Chrissie Hynde, joining her new drinking buddy J.P. Jones in a foray into English folk.

Tonight the action gets thicker, with Philadelphia's own Dr. Dog and New Jersey working stiffs the Gaslight Anthem (that's them) headlining the big room downstairs and crafty Seattle indie rockers Minus the Bear and swinging string band Carolina Chocolate Drops, among others, upstairs. Non-Comm is a radio industry conference for adult alternative stations from around the country, but tickets are available to the public here for $75 a pop or two for $100. Pretty pricey, but it gets you in to all the Non-Comm shows through Saturday, including the Roots & John Legend and Trombone Shorty on Friday and The National on Saturday morning. Complete schedule here.
