Radiohead to do SNL and Colbert, play two New York shows
Radiohead is playing the Saturday Night Live season premier this weekend, as the British art-rockers who always do things their own way are finally getting around to promoting The King Of Limbs, which they self-released this past spring. And while Thom Yorke and crew are in New York, they're also going to be stop by The Colbert Report next Monday, where they'll playing a total of four songs, including the previously unreleased "The Daily Mail." It's the first time on Comedy Central for Radiohead since they helped out Cartman out with his diabolical plan to take revenge on Scott Tenorman on South Park in 2001. Colbert could barely contain his glee in announcing he had snagged the band, but stayed in character in doing so: "I look forward to meeting the Radioheads and leveraging their anti-corporate indie cred to raise brand awareness for my sponsors," he said.
Radiohead will also play two shows at Roseland Ballroom on Sept. 28 and 29, with tickets going on sale on 9/26 on Ticketmaster. Thom Yorke does the "Lotus Flower" dance, below.
