Spoon and Amos Lee to headline second night of XPoNential Fest in Camden in July

The announcement of this year's XPoNential Music Festival, happening from July 28 to 30 at the BB&T Pavilion and adjacent Wiggins Park in Camden, is coming in dribs and drabs.

Last month's word was that Wilco, Conor Oberst and Hop Along are playing the BB&T on Friday night. Today's announcement about the WXPN-FM (88.5) presented fest is that the Saturday lineup willl be co-headlined by Britt Daniel-fronted Austin, Texas four piece Spoon  - whose album Hot Thoughts comes out Friday - along with Philadelphia songwriter Amos Lee.

Lee apparently will be getting some assistance: His portion of the show is officially billed as Amos Lee & Friends with Preservation Hall Jazz Band, the latter being the New Orleans old time jazz institution who has made it a common practivce in recent years to collaborate with open minded contemporary acts, like Jim James of My Morning Jacket. Who Lee's other "friends" will be in this instance is yet to be determined.

Also on tap: Houston, Texas soul, funk and reggae band The Suffers, and rising Los Angeles quartet Chicano Batman, whose "This Land Is Your Land" commercial you might have seen during the Super Bowl.

The Sunday night at the BB&T show, and the entire lineup of the Wiggins Park more intimate festivities, on Friday through Sunday, is still to come.

Tickets for Satiurday nights show go on sale this Friday at 10 a.m. via Ticketmaster. More info here.
