Watch: Bruce Springsteen's 'Purple Rain' Prince tribute in Brooklyn

Opened 'The River' tour date on Saturday with tribute.

Bruce Springsteen opened his 'River Tour' date in Brooklyn on Saturday night by playing "Purple Rain," in honor of Prince, who died on Thursday at 57. Check it out below.

After the show Nils Lofgren, who takes the long solo that being the perfromance to its climax, tweeted: "Tonight we bow down to the genius of Prince. I am humbled to play #PurpleReighn in his honor."   In 2012, Prince guested on The View and talked about learning from Springsteen as a bandleader.
