Agnostic daddy throws up a prayer

The regular after-school program for my daughter has been over-subscribed, and I have scrambled to find relief. Finally, today is the day the Little Girl enters a new program in our South Jersey town.

As I write this, I am holding my breath, awaiting her verdict later this afternoon when I pick her up.

I'm not a praying man, but if I were, I'd ask the gods to help me out on this one. Please let the kid be happy, unsullied, unbullied, and ready to go back tomorrow.

Sometimes, the everyday-ness of parenting surprises you. Nothing is ever quite finished or settled. It just goes on.

But if this program is a good fit, I can call it a win and feel like something got accomplished.

All prayers are welcome.
