Those deserting the "Pirates" ship may one day include Johnny Depp, who sounds non-commital when reacting to news that Jerry Bruckheimer is ready to go forth with a fifth "Pirates of the Caribbean."

Number four opens here Friday, but without director Gore Verbinski (Rob Marshall takes over), and stars Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom. Writer Terry Rossio (no longer working with "Pirates" partner Ted Elliot, another escapee) has submitted the script for number five. Depp has read it, but tells THR he's not entirely on board.
