The seven-year-old boy who was struck by a car in Towamencin Township on Tuesday has been treated for a head injury and released from a hospital, officials reported this morning.
Police Chief Paul T. (Tim) Dickinson said the little boy darted out into traffic as a car moved southbound on Bustard Road near Old Morris Road. Witnesses told police the child was walking with an adult who was pushing a baby stroller southbound in the grass adjacent to the road.
Dickinson said the car never left the roadway. After the accident, the driver remained on the scene and cooperated with police. Because the driver committed no crime, no charges were filed, Dickinson said.
The boy was treated at the scene by Volunteer Medical Services Corps of Lansdale and flown to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia by emergency medical services helicopter. Late Tuesday afternoon, police learned that the child had been released from the hospital.
