Eagles reportedly check out WR

The Eagles worked out a wide receiver this week, according to Adam Caplan of

The Birds checked out Bobby Williams (6-2, 194), who spent time on the Texans' and Bills' practice squads last season.

Williams is 25 and went undrafted in 2009 before signing with the Vikings. He has not appeared in an NFL game.

In three college seasons at North Alabama, he caught 76 balls for 864 yards and five touchdowns.

The Eagles currently have eight wide receivers on their roster. DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin, Jason Avant, Riley Cooper and Chad Hall all obviously played last season.

The Birds re-signed Rod Harper after he spent much of last season on the practice squad. Jeremy Williams was re-signed earlier this month too after spending 2010 on the practice squad.

And the Eagles signed former Giants draft pick Sinorice Moss.

Late Wednesday night, I posted some notes on the Eagles' newest defensive coordinator candidate Dennis Allen.
