Does WR Marshall want out of Denver?

Some afternoon links from around the league as you kill time with no Phillies game tonight:

** Broncos wide receiver Brandon Marshall reportedly asked for a trade last week, according to Adam Schefter, per profootballtalk.com. Denver owner Pat Bowlen told Marshall to rethink his stance, according to the report. Marshall has had several offseason problems, but produced on the field last year, catching 104 balls for 1,265 yards and six touchdowns. He's 25 years old.

** Sicklerville, N.J. product Shonn Greene has agreed to terms with the New York Jets. The Iowa running back was selected with the first pick of the third round in April's draft.

** Plaxico Burress had his trial delayed until Sept. 23, and his lawyer Benjamin Brafman said it was "inconceivable" that he would face trial on gun possession charges before 2010, according to ESPN.com. There's also the matter of a league suspension. In his MMQB column, SI.com's Peter King detailed why it might be hard for Roger Goodell to discipline Burress before he has had a trial in court.

** Eagletarian caught this one earlier, but in case you missed it, Greg Ellis is expected to sign with the Raiders, according to Calvin Watkins of Fanhouse. There had been rumors by some national media outlets that the Eagles could potentially be interested in Ellis.

** Who watched The 'Pen last night on MLB Network? I was entertained. It was pretty much baseball's version of Hard Knocks except it will continue into the regular season and focused on one aspect of a team. Anyone else think Jack Taschner looked a little like Ben Roethlisberger when he wore his hat backwards? I'll be tuning in for the entire series. By the way, the Bengals are this year's team for Hard Knocks. We'll have plenty to say once that gets started.

** Anyone watching Joe Buck Live tonight? Sketch comedy? Really? Should be interesting.

** And finally, I'll be on vacation from Wednesday to Tuesday, but don't worry. I'll have my computer and will continue to blog because, well, I'm pretty much obsessed with all things MTC. I'll be in Portland, Oregon visiting my sister and brother in-law who moved out there last year. If anyone has recommendations -- restaurants, bars, things to see, things to do, please chime in through the comments below. Particularly if you have a place for me to catch the Phillies games.
