Making sense of the Eagles' inactives

The Eagles have announced their inactives for today's game against the Giants: Jaiquawn Jarrett, Curtis Marsh, Darryl Tapp, Danny Watkins, Julian Vandervelde, Winston Justice and Juqua Parker.

This is the first time all three quarterbacks are active as Vince Young will dress. If Michael Vick goes down, we'll find out if the Eagles go with Young or Mike Kafka.

The Eagles go with seven offensive linemen as Watkins is inactive after dressing for the first time in Week 2. The two backups are Jamaal Jackson and King Dunlap.

For the first time all season, the Eagles will have only seven defensive linemen active. With both Tapp and Parker out, Trent Cole will likely be in for another busy day. He played about 90 percent of the snaps last week against the Falcons. Jason Babin played about 75 percent and should see a lot of time once again also.

An interesting guy to watch is Philip Hunt. The defensive end from the CFL played only four snaps in Week 2, but could see some more time. Cullen Jenkins could play a little defensive end also, although I'm sure the Eagles would rather have him providing pressure up the middle.

Akeem Jordan returns to the lineup after missing Week 2. Don't expect to see more than a special teams role for him.

Earlier Sunday, I took a look at how often Eagles cornerbacks have been targeted. They'll once again go with five active corners. Third-round pick Curtis Marsh has yet to dress. Same goes for second-round pick Jaiquawn Jarrett.

As always, I'll be chatting during today's game so be sure to join me at 1.
