Vermeil addresses rumors

Since

resigned earlier this week, rumors have circulated that

might be interested in returning to the Chiefs in a front-office role.

Vermeil today addressed those rumors,

According to the blog post, Vermeil calls reports that he's going to K.C. in a

-like role nothing but a "big rumor."

But when asked if he was saying he wouldn't be interested in such a thing, Vermeil didn't exactly shoot the idea down.

"I didn't say that," he said. "I said no one talked to me about that."

Vermeil coached the Chiefs from 2001-05 for five seasons, but Kansas City only made the playoffs once during his tenure.
