Heckert a candidate in Seattle?

Update:

Tom Heckert is one of three candidates linked to the Seattle Seahawks' general manager opening, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Per the report, the two other candidates are Arizona's Steve Keim and San Diego's Jimmy Raye.

Heckert is in his eighth season with the Eagles. He joined the Birds in 2001 as the director of player personnel. In 2006, Heckert was promoted to general manager. In 2008, he received a contract extension through 2011.

Andy Reid signed a contract extension through 2013 earlier this month, and it's important to remember his title also includes executive vice president of football operations.

Seattle's front office shuffle has been a hot topic this weekend. Mike Holmgren yesterday turned down an offer to take a senior leadership position with the Seahawks.

Earlier this month, Eagletarian wrote about what the potential loss of Heckert could mean for the Eagles.

From earlier:

Before we get to our weekly look at who's picking the Eagles, I posted last night about what the Cowboys' win over the Saints means for the Birds, in case you missed it.

All six Daily News writers and Vegas Vic pick the Eagles to come out on top.

Bob Ford, Ashley Fox and John Gonzalez of the Inquirer all like the Birds by double-digits.

SI.com's Peter King goes with the Eagles, 34-24:

The Eagles are starting to be must-see TV. This is the first time in Andy Reid's 11 years that, offensively, you just can't look away because they're so exciting.

FoxSports.com's Peter Schrager likes the Birds, 24-16:

This Eagles offense is downright scary. The most horrifying part? Brent Celek, Jeremy Maclin, LeSean McCoy, and DeSean Jackson — Philly's top four playmakers — are all under 24. I liked what I saw out of San Fran's young foursome — Smith-Gore-Crabtree-Davis but just can't see Philly losing this one at the Linc.

Accuscore predicts a 25.4 to 17.5 Eagles win.

CBSSports.com's Pete Prisco predicts a 33-17 Birds victory:

The 49ers are playing off a short week after their upset of Arizona. This is a long trip. The Eagles need it to stay atop the NFC East. The 49ers are a scrappy bunch, but this is asking a lot against a good team that needs the game on a short week. I look for that Philadelphia passing game to make big plays down the field.

Four of six CBSSports.com experts like the Eagles to cover an 8.5-point spread.

Pro Football Talk goes with the Eagles, 30-17:

The Eagles are playing as well as any team in the league right now, riding the momentum of four straight wins and an offense that might just be able to outscore the Vikings or the Saints. With a playoff berth on the line and the NFC East crown getting closer, the Eagles won't let up, especially at home.

Matt Bowen of the National Football Post goes with the Birds, 30-17:

I think we all can agree that Mike Singletary's football team in San Fran is going to play physical up front, and regardless of what we want to believe about QB Alex Smith, this is a team that wins with the running game of Frank Gore. But, if they have to keep pace with McNabb and the big-play Eagles, can they do it? If the Niners force turnovers on defense, they can get out of Philly with a win. But I don't see it happening. No one is slowing down the Eagles right now and I am taking Philly to win and hold onto first place in the NFC East.

All eight ESPN.com experts pick the Eagles.
