Havertown resident is new principal of Waldron

Waldron Mercy Academy in Merion Station announced its new prinipal was Havertown resident Nell Stetser.

The new prinicpal of Waldron Mercy Academy is not only from nearby Havertown, but is also no stranger tothe school's campus in Merion Station.

Appointed to the position after Waldron's Board of Trustees conducted a regional search for the position, Nell Stetser is not only a St. Joseph's University alumna, but has also been with Waldron Mercy since 1990.

Stetser recently served as vice principal of academic affairs for the past year, and has previously served as the school's curriculum director and a second and fourth grade teacher.

Stetser earned her Bachelor of Science degree from St. Joseph's, where she also received her certification in prinicpal/curriculum supervisior. The Havertown resident also has a Master of Science degree in elementary education from Cabrini College.

Stetser will succeed acting Principal Steve Stritch, who served in the position for the 2011-2012 academic year. Stritch will assume a new role on the Senior Leadership Team as Executive Director of Advancement beginning July 1, 2012, when Stetser wil assume her new role at the Catholic elementary school.
