Everything you need to know about the Philly 10K
On Sunday, August 30, the second annual Philly 10K will kick off the starting line. A total of 4,500 runners will race through the heart of the city, from South Philly to Midtown Village and all of the other neighborhoods in between. Whether you're racing, spectating or volunteering, here's a quick guide of what you need to know.
Start Time and Location
8th and South Streets. The first of five corrals will go off at 7:30 a.m.
Getting There
Race organizers recommend all runners take public transit to the starting line as parking will not be easy to come by. Philly residents can take SEPTA's Broad Street Line to the Lombard-South stop and walk east on South Street for .4-miles to the start. For runners coming from Jersey, PATCO's stop at 9th/10th and Locust Streets will place you a mere .3-miles from the start. And don't forget to utilize Indego's bike stations! You can park your rental at 4th and Bainbridge or 11th and Pine for an easy walk to the start.

Water Stations
There will be three water stations situated along the course at miles 1.6, 3.2 and 4.8.
Cheer Stations
What's a race without a great cheering section? The Philly 10K has three official spots where you can join the party and cheer your little heart out.
RUN215 is hosting an epic cheer station in front of the South Philly ACME at 1400 East Passyunk Ave. They're asking fans to bring super soakers and megaphones to keep runners pumped up. More info here.
Be Well Philly and November Project are teaming up at 12th and Chestnut to help you push through to Mile 5. More info here.
T-Mobile will also be hosting a cheer zone on Washington Square at 7th and Walnut along the final stretch.
After-Party!
Runners will finish at 5th and Pine Streets and from there, it's on to the after-party, which takes up a four-block radius along 5th and South Streets. Here is where you can pick up your free Philadelphia Brewing Company celebratory beer and Shake Shack Jelly Donut frozen custard featuring Federal Donuts. DEEJAY 007 will be spinning beats while you shop through the retail village featuring tons of healthy, local companies.
