This weekend: Love Run Half to host pop-up run

The Love Run Philadelphia Half Marathon, the City's premier spring race, is set for Sunday, March 26 at 7:30 a.m.

With just a month to go until race day, organizers are hosting a free pop-up run this Saturday, Feb. 25 to give racers a course preview.

Meet at the Art Museum steps at 8:30 a.m. for a dynamic warm-up before the run kicks off at 9 a.m.

Love Run's Elite Access pace team will lead three distance groups — 3, 6 and 9 miles — through the Fairmount Park section of the course, concluding with a post-race celebration at City Tap House Logan Square.

Runners can RSVP for the pop-up run on Facebook here.

On March 26, runners will begin on the Ben Franklin Parkway, racing through  center city, then complete an out-and-back section along Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive, with scenic views of Boat House Row and other iconic sites.

In 2016, Competitor Magazine named The Love Run Half "Best Race Swag." Participants receive a commemorative coffee mug, free beer, a premium tech shirt, a vanity bib, incredible finish medals and a few other surprises.
