Former Eagles receiver Cris Carter headed to FOX Sports

Former ESPN analyst and Eagles receiver Cris Carter is headed to Fox.

The eight-time Pro Bowler and NFL Hall of Famer will join FOX Sports as an FS1 NFL analyst and offer his insights and analysis on a number of FS1 shows, including "Undisputed."

"Cris is one of sports media's most-respected NFL analysts with a track record of offering thought-provoking commentary on television for nearly 15 years," Whit Albohm, an FS1 vice president, said in a statement.

ESPN chose not to bring back Carter to its NFL coverage this season, a move that publicly irked him when the network continued to use his signature phrase "C'mon, man!" during its weekly bloopers segment on "NFL Countdown."

Carter later implied on Twitter that he tried to trademark the catchphrase, but ESPN "wouldn't allow it."

Carter was one of many former NFL players whom ESPN chose not to bring back amid a shakeup with the network's NFL coverage. ESPN also parted ways with former Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis and ex-Bears coach Mike Ditka. Former Broncos linebacker Tom Jackson, who had been with the network since 1987, chose to retire before this season.

Carter finished his career as the NFL's second all-time leading receiver, racking up 1,101 receptions for 13,899 yards. His 130 touchdowns were also the second-most in league history. Carter is also a member of the NFL's All-Decade Team of the 1990s, an honor he shares with new FS1 colleague and "Undisputed" co-host Shannon Sharpe.

The former wide receiver started his broadcast career as a studio analyst on HBO's "Inside the NFL" back in 2002. There, he interviewed former Eagles coach Buddy Ryan and opened up about his controversial release from the team. Carter moved to ESPN in 2008.
