In every sports town, or possibly just this one, fans can turn on each other. Sometimes it's out of jealousy - one team may be on the rise, while the other makes fart noises for several months before fading into the offseason. Sometimes it's out of ignorance - who can understand all those rules they have in hockey?! Baseball is boring!! I was kicked out of the Linc for screaming horrible, drunken things at LeSean McCoy because he wouldn't take my kid under his wing and mentor him for a decade!
Whatever the reason, fans of different sports can always find reasons to spurn, disgrace, or hate on fans of another, even though, in the end, we're not so different. And that's exactly the lesson that was taught today at the We Live Philly Sports fest.
