WIP's Josh Innes off the air this week; Macnow to fill-in

Following the surprising departure of Tony Bruno from his Sportsradio 94.1 WIP show, co-host Josh Innes won't be on the air this week.
Innes isn't getting fired or moved back to nights - he's taking a prescheduled vacation, according to sources at WIP.
Filling in for Innes, at least for three or four days, will be Glen Macnow and Jody McDonald, a reunion of sorts for the duo who previously hosted a show together on WIP from 1993 through the end of 2000.
"The thing that I always appreciate is how many men, now in their 20s and 30s, stop me to tell me how they grew up listening to Jody and me," Macnow said. "We were their intro to sports-talk radio."
For Macnow, it is a temporary return to a spot he one shared with former WIP host Anthony Gargano, who now hosts a new morning show for 97.5 The Fanatic. Macnow left the show amid a contract dispute back in 2013 before signing an agreement that kept him in his current role with the station.
"Working with people like Ray Didinger and Jody McDonald makes me realize how lucky I am to be in the business," Macnow said. "It also makes me realize that there are a few people out there who know an incredible amount about sports, and a little bit about life."
Innes' vacation comes at a good time for WIP, who will be forced to scramble in coming weeks to nail down a co-host for the popular show, which overtook Mike Missanelli at The Fanatic nearly from the start among several key demographics.
No announcement is expected soon as to who will replace Bruno (if anyone at all), but Innes has made it known that he favors hosting alongside McDonald, who currently anchors the station's 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. slot. McDonald played temporary co-host most of the past week as the station scrambled to deal with Bruno's absence.
Speaking of Bruno, the now-retired sports personality made a stop over at Fox 29 to discuss his sudden departure from his show.
According to sources, Innes will return on the air Tuesday, July 21.
