What did the Eagles just do?

This week's edition of Not Another Philly Sports Talk Show is a special emergency edition recorded after the Eagles' stunning trade to acquire the No. 2 pick in this year's NFL draft from the Cleveland Browns. David Murphy, Mike Sielski and Jonathan Tannenwald break down what the deal means for the Birds now and in the future - and wonder how on Earth the team is going to fill the many holes it still has at other positions on the roster.

So... uh... yeah. That happened, And it upended our plans for this week's podcast, to say the least.

Normally, I write these posts in the third person and just put "Philly.com Staff" as the byline. This time, I'm taking you behind the curtain a bit.

On Wednesday morning, we recorded a NFL draft preview edition of Not Another Philly Sports Talk Show. David Murphy and Mike Sielski were here, and Les Bowen dropped by for a while, and Zach Berman called in on the phone, and I said a few words here and there as I usually do.

Then, right before I was getting ready to produce the show and post it here on Philly.com, the Eagles blew the thing to pieces.

Fortunately, Dave and Mike were still in the office, so we got back together in the studio to try to figure out what the heck the Eagles just did with the huge trade to get the No. 2 pick in this year's draft from the Cleveland Browns.

Was it really worth trading away the big haul of picks the Eagles gave up in order to be assured of getting whichever of Jared Goff and Carson Wentz the Los Angeles Rams don't take? What about all the other holes on the Eagles' roster that need filling - especially cornerback, running back and offensive line?
