In less than two weeks the South Hancock Street home – listed for $1.19 million – is already under contract, according to the seller, Robert Pierce. The home is expected to close on March 20.
With the average Philly home selling in 67 days, perhaps this deal will help set the stage for the 2015 market just as the spring real estate season kicks off. Hopes are high for this year with low interest rates, new 3 percent down-payment programs, and an improving economy.
Other features in the four-bedroom and five-bath home include a master suite with a fireplace, walk-in closet and patio, a master bedroom with double sinks, whirlpool tub and walk-in shower, and a covered entry way.
The home was built six years ago, and Pierce has been the only owner until now.
