Elfreth’s Alley home now available for rent

If a short-term stay at one of the row homes on the country’s oldest residential block has been your dream, you may be in luck.

If a short-term stay at one of the row homes on the country's oldest residential block has been your dream, you may be in luck.

One of the several Elfreth's Alley homes on the market is now available for rent for $3,900 per month.

The 2,600-square-foot home – at 123 Elfreth's Alley – is known as the "Baker's home" as it served as a commercial bakery in the 1700s. The original brick oven is still visible in the basement.

The historic home first hit the market in June for $795,000. After several price changes, it has come off the market and has been made available for rent instead.

The sellers told us earlier this year that they are selling the three-bedroom, three-bath home to upgrade to a home in Society Hill.

Two other homes on the historic cobblestone street are listed for sale: 135, the largest home on the block, and 112, a 1,480-square-foot home for $599,900.
